COMIC-CON DAY ONE - BONE DADDY
/Madness! The first day (Thursday, July 22nd 2010 A.D.) of San Diego's convention for the popular arts, or, Comic-Con, has come and gone, leaving a trail of destruction and drunk nerds dressed as the Green Lantern in it's wake. What has been seen? What has been done? Allow me a futile attempt at reporting the latest from the convention building:
Mr. Smith showing some artwork from his sci fi adventure comic, Rasl
The show kicked off with the first panel of the day in tiny room 5AB with Jeff Smith, the creator/writer/artist of renowned comic series, Bone. Getting to see, hear and smell the man was, for me, a bit of a dream come true having read the entire Bone series front to back I don't know how many times. Fans of the man were treated to a walthrough of an upcoming Rasl re-issue, featuring extended action sequences exclusive to the new collection, as well as a hilarious reading of one of the stories included in a new Bone graphic novel penned by Tom Sniegoski, art by Jeff Smith entitled, Bone: Tall Tales.
Also announced at the panel was another book in the Bone series, Boneville: Quest for the Spark.
Information on everything Bone, as well as Jeff Smith's own personal blog can be found here.
More to come - xoxo, Fitz
